Incredibly easy steak seasoning rub with 6 common household pantry seasonings and spices. Brings steak from bland to bold while enhancing the natural flavors of the steak in the best way.
I should call this series “in my own kitchen” because I’ll be standing in my kitchen cooking dinner for my family and think….this is so good, I should share this. Unfortunately getting out a good camera and lighting detracts from real life cooking so instead I just whip out my cell phone and voila – you get a quick view of the recipe in its authentic form.
This particular recipe is one such situation this week, therefore its going to be short and to the point. But don’t mistake that for being bland!
Simple Steak Seasoning Ingredients
- cracked black pepper
- minced garlic
- kosher salt
- onion powder
- paprika (smoked if you love it)
- dried dill
STEP 1: COMBINE THE SEASONING
- Combine steak seasoning ingredients in a small mixing bowl and whisk together well.
- Proceed to steak preparation.
- If you are following the cast iron method, coat steak on both sides light with oil and then add seasoning mixture.
STEP 2: COOK THE STEAK
- You can make the steak in a cast iron in the oven (like we do, I follow Alton Browns technique) or on the grill with awesome results.
- This rub recipe produces a steak full of flavor that is perfect to serve with side dishes or cut up for a steak salad.
- Want more flavor? Try marinating instead!
Other “in my kitchen” recipes I have shared recently as I am making them for our own dinners – Caesar Brussels Sprouts and White Chicken Enchiladas.
I hope you like this “mini” recipe and give it a try on your next steak night and let us know what you think.
