Strawberry French Toast Bake Recipe - Fresh strawberries layered in cream cheese and french toast, smothered in homemade strawberry sauce is the best way to wake up. Cream Cheese Mixture
1-1/2packages cream cheesesoftened
10 minute Strawberry Sauce
1lbfresh strawberriescut up
Strawberry French Toast Bake
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Cut Italian bread into 1" cubes and place half of the cubes into the bottom of the pan.
Reserve remainder of cubes for second layer.
Strawberry Casserole Cream Cheese Layer
Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1/4 cup milk together and beat well with a mixer.
Spoon dollops of cream cheese on top of the bread in casserole dish. Feel free to spread across bread in a layer.
Sprinkle with pieces of Strawberries and top with remaining cut up bread cubes.
French Toast Mixture Recipe
In a separate bowl, add all eggs, 2 cups milk, sugar, vanilla, ground cinnamon and beat well.
Pour French toast mixture over bread, going back and forth to cover all bread.
Lightly press bread into egg mixture if necessary. It is ok if not all bread is covered.
Oven Bake Strawberry Casserole
Bake strawberry French toast casserole covered with foil for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and discard.
Continue to bake uncovered casserole for 20-25 minutes, until completely cooked and heated through.
The center should be set.
Remove casserole from oven and let stand.
Homemade Strawberry Sauce Directions
Add water, sugar and cornstarch to a sauce pan.
Heat over medium high heat until boiling.
Continue to boil sugar mixture for 3-4 minutes.
Add cut up strawberries and reduce heat to medium low.
Continue to heat strawberries and sugar, stirring mixture occasionally until thick and red, about 10-12 minutes.
Spoon Strawberry Sauce on top of French toast casserole and serve while hot.
This 9x13 Strawberry French toast casserole could serve anywhere from 12 large or 18 medium sized portions. It makes quite a bit of casserole!
