Baked Oats (also known as Baked Oatmeal) easily done with rolled oats and a banana, is a TikTok viral recipe that turns regular oatmeal into flashy, delicious cake-like cookie baked oatmeal. Microwaved in less than 5 minutes, baking oats is a healthy breakfast with tons of tasty flavor. Better than oat muffins, the blender takes popular breakfast oats and blends them into a creamy batter that can be then cooked in the microwave. Add quick cooking rolled oats, 1 banana, milk, baking powder, and honey to a blender.
Blend all ingredients until combined well and completely smooth.
Grease 2 microwave safe bowls (like a ramekin) with nonstick cooking spray and divide oatmeal evenly among each bowl.
Microwave oatmeal batter on high for 3-4 minutes. The batter will puff up in the middle but will fall down once bowl is removed from microwave. Cooking time may vary depending on how the microwave cooks, but we found 3 minutes works best.

Notes
Can I use steel cut oats?
Steel cut oats are grains and quick cooking oats are flat rolled. They cannot be baked or cooked in the same way or at the same time. You cannot substitute steel cut oats in this particular recipe.
Can baked oats be made without a blender?
While this recipe WILL still bake up without it being blended down, it won’t be the exact same. A blender is needed to really take out any texture in the batter and make it smooth. Some advanced food processors may be able to help.
Can Oat Milk or Almond Milk be used?
Yes! You can easily substitute regular milk for oat milk or almond milk. A quick note is that almond milk tends to rise quicker although it makes almost no matter in the microwave.
Can you eat baked oats the next day?
Yes you can.
Can you make baked oats with an egg?
There are many versions of this TikTok recipe floating around and some add an egg to the batter and some substitute the banana for egg. This particular recipe that I am publishing is the most simple microwaved baked oatmeal version without the fuss of an egg and was the original viral baked oats. .If you want to try a version with eggs, simply add an egg to the ingredients and BAKE in the OVEN on 350 until the center is set, about 20 minutes. Please note that I have NOT tested it out personally and cannot claim that any of the current viral videos doing it that way are correct. If we do that recipe in the future, Ill add our instructions. Using an egg and baking in the oven will give a fluffier texture.
What size bowl should I use?
We divided our batter into two smaller ramekins and watched the oat timing but you could easily add this batter to a regular microwave safe cereal bowl as well. Remember that the batter will PUFF OUT and settle once the bowl is removed from the microwave. You can also use a microwave safe mug.
Other than cinnamon, what are other good spice toppings?
Great substitutions for cinnamon is nutmeg, pumpkin spice, or apple pie spice. A tiny taste of vanilla (not too much so it doesn’t change the batter) is totally find to add.
