These easy Bisquick sausage balls are a go-to recipe for parties, holidays, or breakfast. Made with ground sausage, shredded cheddar, and baking mix (Bisquick or Jiffy), they're flavorful, freezer-friendly, and always a hit.
Combine ground sausage, diced onion, diced celery, baking mix, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese in a bowl. Mix well. Use your hands if necessary to knead the mixture.
Kneading Tip: Knead with your hands like it’s bread. There will be some baking mix on the bottom, but keep kneading, and it will come together just fine!
Using a 2-tablespoon portion scoop, scoop sausage into the palm of your hand and roll it into a ball.
Place sausage balls onto a baking sheet in a single layer, at least 1/2" apart.
Bake the appetizer for 15-18 minutes.
Remove sausage cheddar balls from the oven and let stand for a few minutes before serving hot.
Notes
Many people suggest adding a bit of milk into the mixture, but we believe to keep mixing until all ingredients are incorporated. Measure carefully, so you do not add too much baking mix and dry out the ground sausage.
