Place 5 oz. dried butterfly pea flowers into a filter bag and pull shut.
Add the filled tea bag into a mug and pour boiling water over the bag.
Steep tea for 2-3 minutes, or up to 5 minutes for a richer flavor and color.
Remove the tea bag and squeeze in fresh lemon to see the color change and enjoy tea.
Color Changing Iced Tea
To make iced tea, follow the directions above, allowing the blue butterfly pea tea to cool, or refrigerate until cold.
Place tea in a tumbler full of ice and squeeze fresh lemon into the tea before enjoying.

What does blue butterfly tea taste like?We found that it tasted “earthy.” Some would describe the taste of butterfly pea tea as woodsy, but it’s the same thing.
How does butterfly pea tea change colors?By altering the PH of the tea with lemon (as shown), lime juice, pomegranate juice, or experimenting with other tea leaves like Hibiscus. Tea can also be mixed with cream, and some beautiful color changes can happen!
Does blue butterfly tea have caffeine in it?It’s naturally caffeine-free and made from the flower petals or flower of the Clitoria ternatea flowers plant.
