1cupsour creamfat free or regular will work , I use fat free
1cupgranulated sugar
3eggs
2tsporange zest
1/2tspvanilla
1/2cupvegetable oil
Orange Syrup Ingredients
1/4cupsugar
1/4cuporange juicefresh or store bought is fine
Orange Icing Glaze
1tbsporange juicefresh or store bought
1/3cuppowdered sugar
1/4tsporange extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x5 loaf pan with non-stick spray.
Prepare Bread Batter:
In a large bowl, add the sour cream, sugar, eggs, zest, vanilla and oil and whisk until combined. Add in the flour and mix until well combined.
Pour into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Set aside to cool.
Prepare the Orange Syrup While Cooling:
In a saucepan, add the sugar and orange juice then heat until boiling. Let the mixture boil for a minute or two, until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
Remove the loaf from it’s pan and place onto a cooling rack with wax paper underneath, pour the orange syrup all over the top and let it soak in.
Allow the bread to cool completely before topping with the orange icing glaze. (30 minutes at least)
Prepare the Orange Icing Glaze:
Once the bread is completely cooled, mix together the orange juice, powdered sugar and extract. Drizzle the icing all over the top.
