Instructions
Boiling Chicken Breasts for Dogs
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once the liquid is boiling, turn off the heat. Carefully add the 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts to the pot. Cover the pot and let it stand for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink in the center. This gentle boiling method ensures the chicken remains soft and tender.
Altering Boiled Chicken For Humans
Season the Chicken: Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the broth with tongs. Season them with salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning. If the chicken breasts are too large, you can slice them to fit your bread better.
Assembling a Boiled Chicken Fillet Sandwich
Choose your favorite sandwich bread. I like to use Sliced Italian Bread for a classic touch or Brioche Rolls for a richer flavor.
Spread a generous layer of garlic aioli or mayonnaise on one slice of bread.
Place a romaine lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bread.
Place the seasoned chicken fillet on top of the veggies.
Top with another slice of bread and serve immediately.
Notes
The boiling time for chicken breasts can vary depending on their thickness. On average, chicken breasts that are about 1 inch thick will take around 15-20 minutes to cook when boiled. Thicker chicken breasts may require more time, approximately 20-25 minutes, to ensure they are fully cooked and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).To ensure your chicken breasts are cooked through, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. If the breasts are particularly thick or large, you may need to adjust the boiling time accordingly.
