This strawberry lemonade recreates the big shaken lemonades from food truck stands at open air markets, made fresh with real lemon and strawberry syrup.
fresh strawberries and additional lemon slicesfor serving/optional
Instructions
Muddle the lemon and sugar: Mash 1 large lemon, sliced into 8 wedges and ¼ cups granulated sugar together with a muddler. Go slowly, the lemon juice may squirt while mashing.
Add syrup and water: Add 1½ tablespoons strawberry syrup and 2 cups water and mix well.
Serve: Pour over 1 cups ice in a glass and stir before serving, garnished with fresh strawberries and additional lemon slices, for serving, optional if desired.
Notes
No muddler? A tart shaper or any sturdy flat tool works. For a bigger batch, mash lemon and sugar in a bowl, then pour into a pitcher with the syrup, water, and ice.
