Preparation: Start by letting your stick of butter sit out on the counter to soften for about 15 minutes. This makes it much easier to mix later on.
Mixing: In a bowl, combine the softened butter with 1/4 cup of light brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Beating: Use a hand-held mixer to beat the mixture until the sugar is fully combined with the butter and the mixture becomes fluffy. This should take about 3 minutes. Don't forget to use a spatula to scrape off any butter that might get stuck to the mixer in between.
