Sour patch grapes or Candy grapes, these gelatin covered sweet and sour grapes are a delicious bite after bite way to take fresh grapes and turn them into candy-like treats.
Place each color of gelatin into a separate small bowl and set aside. Note that you likely wont need the entire bag, so its fine to start with about 1/4th of the bag and add as you need it. This also prevents the powder from getting too wet during the coating process.
In a small bowl, combine the lime and lemon juice.
Take a grape and dredge it in the lime and lemon juice mix, making sure it’s well-coated. Then, toss the grape in one of the gelatin bowls, covering it completely. I found that using my fingers was the easiest way to ensure the grapes got a nice, even coating.
Place the coated grapes in a single layer on a plate or baking sheet. Repeat the process with the remaining grapes, using different gelatin colors to get a rainbow of flavors.
Once all the grapes are coated, pop them in the fridge for at least an hour. This step is important because it helps the gelatin set, giving the grapes a slightly crunchy exterior.
After refrigeration, your Sour Patch Grapes are ready to serve! They’re best enjoyed chilled or frozen.
Notes
