Crack dip is a savory, creamy dip made with cream cheese, sour cream, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It's a simple and flavorful dish that's a popular party appetizer. The name comes from the crispy bacon that's sprinkled on top, giving it a "crackling" texture, and also due to how addictive it is! It's easy to make and can be served with chips, crackers, or vegetables.
Place softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch seasoning in a mixing bowl.
Using a hand mixer, beat ingredients until smooth.
Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup cooked and chopped bacon.
Spoon dip mixture into a serving bowl and top with remaining shredded cheese, bacon, and chopped fresh parsley (for color).
Serve crack dip with crackers, chips, or raw veggies. See notes for more recipe suggestions.
Notes
Thinning out thick dips
Add more liquid ingredients: This could be a small amount of milk or whipping cream.
Add more of the other ingredients that are used to make bacon cheddar ranch dip: This could be sour cream, Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, or a little real ranch dressing.
Note - Leftovers stored in fridge but as cream cheese rehardens back in fridge, will need to leave out and soften and likely add a bit of mayo, milk, or heavy whipping cream to thin out for next day serving.
