In a large mixing bowl, whisk together two eggs, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, 1-3/4 cups of milk, and two tablespoons of granulated sugar until well combined.
Gradually add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, four teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the egg mixture. Stir until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
Preheat your waffle iron. Once hot, lightly grease it with a small amount of vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
Pour the batter onto the center of the waffle iron, using the amount recommended by your waffle maker's instructions. Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden and crisp. This time can vary depending on the waffle iron used, but is anywhere from 2 minutes to 5 minutes.
Carefully remove the cooked waffle and place it on a serving plate. Repeat the process with the remaining batter until you have made all ten waffles.
Serve the warm waffles with a generous drizzle of maple syrup or whipped cream.
Notes
If waffles stick, likely it needs to be greased up again or didn't finish cooking before opening. Waffles can also stick if the batter is uneven and has thin and thick spots.
Top waffles with syrup, sliced fruit, peanut butter, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or honey.
