Strawberry Sauce Recipe for Ice Cream
Whip up this super easy homemade strawberry ice cream topping! The fresh strawberries are perfect for drizzling over ice cream, waffles, cheesecakes and more.

Ingredients

cup
diced fresh strawberries
1/3
cup
granulated sugar

teaspoon
lemon juice
Vanilla ice cream
for serving
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of diced fresh strawberries, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Mix well.
Heat the mixture over medium-low heat. As the berries cook, mash them gently. When the edges start to boil, stir well for 1 minute.
Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. Stir occasionally until the liquid slightly reduces.
Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
Spoon the cooled strawberry topping over vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe makes approximately 1 cup of strawberry topping. Drizzle over ice cream, crepes, cheesecake, waffles, or pancakes.
