  • Baby Boomers and Gen X have the best relationship with cereal due to its commercial marketing during childhood.
  • Cereal was not only a staple for breakfast but was often a substitute for a quick and inexpensive (and no-prep) dinner. As someone that grew up in that era, if I really do not want to dive into a full dinner recipe, this is my go-to on feeding the fam.

What cereal sold the most boxes in 2023?

In 2023, according to Cereal Secrets, Cheerios was the best-selling cereal brand in the United States in terms of the number of boxes sold, reaching 139.1 million boxes.

Following Cheerios, Frosted Flakes took the second spot with 132.3 million boxes, and Honey Nut Cheerios was third with 129.3 million boxes sold

Whole Grain Cereals

Some of the healthiest cereals to eat fall under whole grain cereals. Look for a cereal brand with high fiber, whole grain, and low or no sugar.
