Eggs Benedict Casserole

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read the Privacy Policy & Cookie Policy.

This eggs benedict casserole takes everything you love about a classic brunch dish and turns it into one easy bake. English muffins and Canadian bacon soak in a savory egg custard with chives and onion powder, then get topped with a warm hollandaise sauce right before serving.

This one is loosely inspired by a Magnolia Table style casserole from Joanna Gaines, though this version is simplified with a packaged hollandaise mix and a smaller pan size that is easier for a weeknight or smaller brunch crowd.

One thing I really liked about this one is that there is no cheese in it at all. So many breakfast casseroles lean heavy on cheese, which is delicious in its own right, but this felt like a nice change of pace. The chives and hollandaise carry all the flavor without needing a single shred of cheddar.

What You Need for This Casserole

  • Milk and eggs form the custard base that the bread and bacon soak into.
  • Fresh chives add a mild onion flavor throughout.
  • Onion powder and salt round out the seasoning.
  • English muffins, cut into cubes, are the base of the casserole and soak up the egg mixture as it bakes.
  • Canadian bacon, cubed, adds that classic eggs benedict flavor.
  • Ground paprika gives the top a little color before baking.
  • Hollandaise sauce mix, prepared according to package directions, gets poured over the top of the baked casserole.

Tips for the Best Eggs Benedict Casserole

Cube the English muffins evenly. Consistent sized cubes soak up the egg mixture more evenly, so every bite gets that same custardy texture.

Let it rest before serving. The 10 minute stand time really matters here. It lets the casserole set so it slices cleanly instead of falling apart.

Fresh chives make a difference. Since there is no cheese to lean on for flavor, the chives play a bigger role than usual. Do not skip the extra sprinkle on top before serving.
