Air fryer marshmallows are the easiest way to get that toasted, gooey s’mores marshmallow without a campfire or a broiler. One marshmallow goes right into the air fryer basket and comes out puffed, melted, and ready for graham crackers and chocolate in just a few minutes.

Air Fryer temps
I tested this a handful of ways across different temperatures, times, and marshmallow sizes to find the sweet spot, and 400 degrees for 5 minutes with no preheat turned out to be the winning combination for both regular and jumbo marshmallows.
What You Need for This Recipe
- Regular or jumbo marshmallows are all you need for the base of this recipe.
- Graham crackers, chocolate, and peanut butter cups are optional additions if you’re making s’mores, which honestly is the best use for these.

How to Make Air Fryer Marshmallows
Place 1 marshmallow in the center of the air fryer basket. Close the lid and set the air fryer to air crisp at 400 degrees, with no preheat, for 5 minutes. When cooking is complete, open the air fryer and remove the marshmallow, placing it onto a graham cracker with chocolate for s’mores, or eating it as desired.
Use a spatula or two graham crackers to scoop the marshmallow out from the bottom of the basket.

Tested Times and Temperatures
Regular size marshmallows (no preheat, air crisp):
- 350 degrees for 3 minutes: puffs up and is perfect for s’mores, soft and melted but not browned
- 400 degrees for 3 minutes: nearly identical results to 350 degrees, melted with no browning
- 400 degrees for 5 minutes: perfect for s’mores, lightly browned and slightly bigger
Jumbo size marshmallows (no preheat, air crisp):
- 400 degrees for 5 minutes: perfectly browned and melted

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Marshmallows
Do not use parchment paper. It tends to stick to the lid or fly up inside the air fryer instead of staying put. The marshmallow may stick a little to the basket itself, but most air fryer baskets have a nonstick coating, so it peels off easily.
Cook marshmallows one at a time. Multiple marshmallows placed together will melt into each other. In one test, three marshmallows cooked at once on parchment paper melted together into a heart shape, cute, but not the separate toasted marshmallows you’re looking for.
Regular size works best for s’mores. Jumbo marshmallows toast up nicely too, but a regular size marshmallow gives a more even ratio of marshmallow to graham cracker and chocolate, which tends to be the preferred bite for most people.
