I was not expecting these to be this good.
The first time I made these Texas Roadhouse Rice Krispie Treats, I figured they would just taste like a slightly upgraded cereal bar. Nope. These were soft, gooey, buttery, loaded with cinnamon sugar flavor, and honestly hard to stop eating. They disappeared ridiculously fast in my house.

The real star here is the Texas Roadhouse Honey Cinnamon Butter. Once it melts into the marshmallows and cereal, the whole thing tastes like a cross between a classic Rice Krispie treat and a cinnamon roll glaze situation.
I also ended up loving the oven method way more than I expected. Instead of standing over the stove melting marshmallows, everything bakes right in the pan you store them in. Less mess, fewer dishes, and great texture. After testing this recipe, I even made a regular batch of Rice Krispie treats using this same method and it worked perfectly.
NOTE: If you are here from the viral video, the ingredients vary slightly. I tested this recipe and adjusted the marshmallow amount from the original version because it did not look like the entire half bag was being used. I weighed mine to exactly 5 ounces, and the consistency came out soft without becoming overly sticky or heavy.
Ingredients You Need
Mini Marshmallows
You only need half of a 10 ounce bag. I weighed mine to exactly 5 ounces for the texture I liked best.
Rice Krispie Cereal
Classic Rice Krispies cereal works best here because it stays light without becoming overly dense once mixed.
Texas Roadhouse Honey Cinnamon Butter
Make sure you grab the honey cinnamon version because they also make an original butter.
Cinnamon Sugar
I sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the top before baking so it gets extra cinnamon flavor that is super noticeable.

How to Make Texas Roadhouse Rice Krispie Treats
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and grease a square 9×9 or 8×8 baking pan.
Add the marshmallows directly to the bottom of the pan. Pour the cereal over the top, then add 4 equal dollops of the honey cinnamon butter across the cereal. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the butter.
Bake for 8 minutes.

Once the marshmallows are soft and the butter has melted, remove the pan from the oven and mix everything together well until the cereal is coated evenly.
Gently press it down. I try not to compact them too firmly because softer pressing keeps the bars chewier once cooled.
Let the treats cool completely until firm before slicing into squares.

Helpful Tips
- I used a 2 tablespoon portion scoop to measure the butter and it made things much easier and cleaner.
- Do not overbake these. The marshmallows should be melted and soft, not browned.
- An 8×8 pan gives thicker, taller bars while a 9×9 pan makes slightly thinner squares
Storage
Store leftover Rice Krispie treats covered at room temperature for up to 3 days. They are definitely best the first day while still extra soft and gooey. If you have them cut into squares, you can also wrap tightly with plastic wrap for an individual grab and go version.
