Christmas Pretzel Wreaths

Chocolate pretzel wreaths are an easy no bake Christmas treat that look absolutely adorable but come together with very little effort. The mix of sweet chocolate, crunchy pretzels, and colorful candy makes them perfect for holiday dessert trays, neighbor gifts, and classroom parties. They are easy to assemble and always one of the first treats that everyone grabs for off the plate.

If you are already building out a Christmas candy tray, these pair especially well with classic cornflake wreaths for another no bake treat on the same platter.
Important Pretzel Tip Before You Start
Not all pretzels in the bag are the same shape. When I sorted mine into a pile, I found two slightly different curved styles. I strongly recommend separating out matching pretzels first before you dip anything. Once they match, shaping them into a clean circle is much easier and your wreaths look intentional instead of lopsided.
I found that 6 to 8 pretzels per layer is the sweet spot for size and stability.

Ingredients
- Pretzels OR Mini Pretzels (your choice)
- Wilton Dark green candy melts
- Cinnamon candies (wilton also has these)
- Betty Crocker holiday nonpareils
These wreaths are a good size. I usually break them into pieces to eat rather than biting into the whole thing. They taste just like chocolate covered pretzels with a Christmas twist.

How to Make Chocolate Pretzel Wreaths
Line a flat surface with parchment paper. A baking sheet, large cutting board, or even the table works. If you are making a full batch, you may want two baking sheets so you can keep working while the first set cools.
Before dipping anything, arrange your sorted pretzels into a circle on the parchment paper.
Microwave about half of a standard bag of dark green candy melts according to package directions, stirring until smooth.
Dip half of each pretzel into the melted candy and place it back into the circle shape on the parchment paper. Each pretzel should lightly touch the next one so they bond as the coating sets.

Once the first layer is complete, create a second layer of the same number of pretzels, overlapping the seams from the first layer. This makes the wreath stronger and gives it a more finished look.
While the chocolate is still soft, add cinnamon candies to look like berries and sprinkle with holiday nonpareils for decoration.

Allow the wreaths to fully set at room temperature or place the tray in the refrigerator for about 10 to 15 minutes to speed things up.
Once set, gently peel them off the parchment paper using a thin spatula.
Tips for Clean, Strong Wreaths
- If your candy melts start to thicken, reheat in short 15 second bursts and stir between each one.
- If you want a softer green color instead of dark forest green, you can mix in a small amount of white candy melts.
- If your kitchen is warm, place the tray in the refrigerator for a few minutes to help the candy coating set cleanly.
Serving and Gift Tray Ideas
These chocolate pretzel wreaths fit perfectly on a Christmas dessert board with a mix of textures. I like pairing them with no bake Oreo truffles and classic Christmas cream cheese mints for a good balance of rich chocolate and lighter candy flavors.
They also look great packaged in small cellophane bags tied with ribbon for neighbor gifts. Adding a few white chocolate haystacks to the same bag makes a really nice mixed candy pack.

Storage and Make Ahead
Store wreaths in a single layer in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
They can also be refrigerated if your house runs warm, but let them come to room temperature before serving for best texture.
Freezing is not recommended because the candy coating can sweat when thawed and dull the finish.
