Where did this Buffalo Ramen Noodle Recipe Begin?

We originally saw this video on the TikTok FYP by noflakeysalt and you can see the inspiration below:

What did we think about this viral “recession-proof” recipe?

I have a hard time using the term “chicken” in this recipe since there isn’t any actual chicken, but rather the “chicken flavor” from the ramen seasoning. The flavor is not super hot, I’d add more hot sauce if you want your mouth to be on fire, but it has a nice kick.

Ramen noodles are relatively inexpensive, making them an economical option for many people. Recession low-cost meals are important for families to get the most out of their meals, and ramen noodles tend to provide that.

At less than 1 dollar per serving, this dish ranks high on the affordability scale!

Ingredients:

  • chicken flavored ramen
  • hot sauce
  • sour cream
  • chopped green onions for serving

Alternative: Use Buffalo Chicken Ranch Sauce instead of Franks Red Hot

How to make Buffalo Chicken Ramen

  1. Boil 3 cups of water and add ramen noodles.
  2. Boil ramen in the water for 3 minutes or until done.
  3. Reserve 2 tablespoons of water on the side and drain the pasta well.
  4. Return the ramen to the pan. Add in chicken-flavored seasoning packet.
  5. Add Franks red hot sauce, sour cream, and reserved water (if necessary). Mix all ingredients well so the noodles are saturated.
  6. Serve Buffalo Chicken Ramen immediately topped with chopped green onions.

Changes we would make

We def love the challenge of making the noodles appetizing and Franks red hot does that! But overall, this dish would be even better with some actual chicken pieces.

Ramen noodles are easy to make, making them a great go-to meal for busy people. With only a few minutes needed, they are perfect to pop in the microwave or on the stove and be ready to eat.

TikTok Ramen (the sweet version), Ramen Lasagna, and Ramen Grilled Cheese have been super fun and silly trends.
