Literally everything I make takes half the time and has been easy.
Ok, enough about that – let’s get to making those air fryer wings! Btw, as always on my site, if you want to skip my dialogue, you can head right to the bottom of the recipe where I include a print out.

Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Wings
The ease, simplicity, and deliciousness of an air fryer wing is like restaurant perfection without the actually trip to the restaurant.
I am SO excited to share with you my method and recipe on how to use your Ninja Foodi All in One to make delicious wings in just about 20 minutes.
Before you get started, you have to choose your marinade.
There are hoards of amazing recipes for marinade perfection and I could make literally 1000’s of new articles on how to create marinades, but when I want wings, I simply want to pick out a sauce and get cooking.
For the purpose of demonstration on these wings, I am using a THAI PEANUT HOT SAUCE that I picked up at my local store in the marinate section.
Its absolutely delicious and makes a great sweet and spicy wing.
You can use this air fryer wing recipe to really use any sauce, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, or even homemade sauces and get the perfect seasoned skin and moist meat.
Scroll to the bottom for a printable version of this post, including all measurements and instructions, so you can follow along in your kitchen without being on your phone.
Here is what ingredients you need to gather to get started:
- 6-10 defrosted chicken wings – I buy packages of wings and then mix up the marinade and seasoning when making, and in the case of the 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi, you can use a min of 6 wings and as many as 10 wings in the air fryer.
- marinade or BBQ Sauce

Frozen or defrosted wings?
When I am making wings, I like to grab them fresh.
I have not tested out my timing method on FROZEN wings so at this time of writing, I cannot let you know if its easily translatable to frozen chicken. If I redo this recipe in the future with frozen chicken wings, I will update.
Or, if you are reading and try it and care to come back and let ME know, I will update for readers wanting this method!
How to make Ninja Foodi Wings
Open your wing package and generously season your raw wings with salt and peppercorn pepper.
Using tongs, place each wing into AIR CRISP BASKET (the black one) side by side.
It is OK to let them touch and they line up pretty easily in the basket (same as the package). You can get up to 10 in at once.
If you missed spots on seasoning, which you can tell after you remove from the package, feel free to re-season IN the air fryer basket.
Close Air Fryer Lid (the one that is already hooked to your Ninja Foodi) and set your timing on AIR FRYER, 400 DEGREES, 10 minutes.
Open at 10 minutes and FLIP wings over and reset for AIR FRYER, 400 degrees, 10 Minutes.
Once done, open Air fryer and flip back to top and, using a baster or brush right in the basket, add your sauce to the wings on both sides.
Usually you will need to coat 2-3 times.
Close air fryer and reset for 400 degrees for 3 minutes.
WINGS ARE DONE!
Remove with tongs (they are hot).

You can almost cook anything in the air fryer
Trisha says
I agree! I have the 6.5 and the 8 quart Ninja both!
Anne says
I have the 5 qt. Foodie. Im trying fresh BBQ wings tonite. As this size only comes with a smaller basket, I’m gonna improvise, unless you or your readers have suggestions. Thanks
Tammy says
My wings came out perfect..thank you.. My husband bought me my Ninja 2 years ago!!.. I always make the joke..”Did he buy it for me or him??”” Becouse he gets all the benefits (food) I experiment with..I don’t know how i ever survived without it!!
Trisha says
Tammy – First, so glad your wings came out great! I love making them in a pressure cooker – I never really loved oven baking as much when it comes to wings/thighs and the pressure cooker has opened that back up for me! I am sure you will find your groove w/ the cooker soon – I LOVE it for hard boiled eggs!
Tiffany Duncan says
This was the first thing I made. Followed your directions and everything turned out so delish. Thanks.
Trisha says
Yay! thank you Tiffany!! I love having chicken wings in the pressure cooker, so glad it worked well for you.
Charlie says
I have the 8 quart, I’ve cooked about 30 at a time 400, 25 to 30 minutes, just stir/ flip every 7 to 8 minutes if more than a flat layer. I just toss in sauce when done, sure you could brush them, but a little more difficult if more than a single layer
Trisha says
Thanks Charlie for the feedback and help for readers!
Carol says
I made naked wings using frozen drummettes. 390* for 22 min. They were terrific!
Trisha says
thanks for the feedback, so glad you enjoyed!!
Joy McCarthy says
My wings were perfect!!! Thank you. !!
Trisha says
Awesome, yay!
Phil Berht says
Because we like them crispier, I went 12 minutes on each side, then basted and did 3 more minutes on each side – worked great.
Sarah says
This may be a stupid question. I just got the 8 quart on a Cyber Monday deal. Will the cook times be the same as with the 6.5 quart?
Trisha says
So not all recipes timing is the exact same in the 6 versus the 8 quart – in this case because its the air fryer portion, its easy to check. Do it up to the timing listed and then check. You just open the lid and it will automatically stop. The main difference between the 2 is that the 8 quart is a little deeper, so if it needs extra time, it will just be a minute or so I think.
Jenny says
Hi I’m from the UK just made my 1st lot ever of chicken wings in my Foodi max. I had about a 1kg of wings and thought I’d try using the wire rack so I could cook 2 layers of wings. I flipped and rotated them after 10 mins and then two more times at 6 mins each. Then finally flipped and rotated and basted them in bbq sauce before a final blast for 4 mins. They were perfect and my husband loved them!
Mary Ostermeier says
I did fresh wings in the foodi on air fry. Came out perfect. Definitely will make them again.
Trisha says
Thanks mary! Its my favorite way to chicken wing too! So glad you loved it,
trisha
Alexa says
Hi, do I have to worry about the sauce dripping through the bottom of the basket? Wouldn’t that make a huge mess under the basket?
Trisha says
Hi Alexa! So any time you have grease it can drip through the basket to the holding basket. In this case, the ninja foodi, the inner air crisp basket goes into the ceramic gray container and you wipe out excess grease w/ a paper towel and throw away.
One trick I use with bacon is to add a piece of bread between the air crisp basket and the inner ceramic pot. The grease hits the bread and basically toasts it and its easy to throw away with a LOT less mess.
