When I’m looking for a quick, delicious appetizer, my go-to is always my strawberry cream cheese roll ups recipe. Also called party pinwheels, these tortilla slices are filled with a cheesecake-flavored cream cheese spread and sweet chopped fruit.
A kid-friendly no bake finger food, this easy snack is always the first to disappear from the plate.
Every time I make these cheesecake roll ups, I’m reminded of why they’re one of my favorite recipes. They’re easy, delicious, and bring a touch of sweetness to any occasion. Plus, they’re an inexpensive and only take a few minutes to prep. Let’s get started!
Party Pinwheel Ingredients
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
- 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow cream
- 1 1/3 cups diced strawberries (or any fruit of your choice)
- 4 large (10″) flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- Before you get started, I have a tip! While I like to keep the cream cheese cheesecake filling really simple, you can really fill these with a variety of other dessert dip spreads. Try spreading the strawberry fruit dip recipe or even the chocolate chip dessert dip instead. Great variations that also work wonderfully.
How to make Cream Cheese Pinwheels with Strawberries
Whether it’s a summer BBQ, birthday party, or just sitting down to watch a movie with your kids, these cheesecake cream cheese tortillas are a hit. Plus, they’re super easy to make and can be prepped the night before if necessary. Let me show you how!
Prepare the Filling: Beat together the cream cheese and marshmallow cream with a hand mixer until smooth. Divide the mixture into four equal parts by smoothing the filling in the bowl and making a plus sign with a knife.
Assemble the Roll Ups: Spread one-fourth of the filling onto a flour tortilla. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of diced strawberries evenly over the filling. Gently roll the tortilla into a tight burrito shape. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
Add the Cinnamon Sugar Coating: Mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon sugar in a small bowl.
Spread plastic wrap on a flat surface and place a roll-up onto the wrap. Using a pastry brush, coat the roll-up with melted butter and generously sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Flip the roll-up and repeat on the other side, ensuring you get the sides well-coated. Wrap the plastic wrap tightly around the roll-up and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- Do I have to put in fridge for an hour? Technically you can eat immediately, but putting in fridge allows the cream cheese spread to reharden and make the pinwheel easier to cut. If you do not let chill, your pinwheel may fall apart. It still still taste good though!
Slice and Serve: When ready to serve, slice each roll-up into 1-inch sections, discarding the ends (This is where I ‘taste test’ and eat the ends!).
Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
Servings Info:

- I suggest making a variety of pinwheels with fruit and if you prefer a savory version, try my recipe for pinwheel sandwiches with cream cheese that is stuffed with veggies.
Tips and Variations:
- Can you prep strawberry party pinwheels the night before? Yes! These pinwheels are perfect for prepping ahead. Just refrigerate them overnight, and they’ll be ready to slice and serve the next day.
- What are some additional fruits that go well chopped into roll-ups? Try blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, or kiwi. You can even use a combination. Just make sure the fruit is chopped into bite sized pieces.
