  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 10 oz. bag of chocolate chunks

Instructions

  • Using either a saucepan or the microwave, melt butter and then let butter stand for about 10 minutes to cool. You do not want hot butter going into the dough.
  • Once cooked, combine butter, light brown sugar, and granulated white sugar and beat well. (I use a stand mixer)
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat well.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Then, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  • Beat together until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chunks with a spatula.
  • Cover the bowl and let the batter stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Using a 2 tablespoon portion cookie scoop, scoop dough onto baking sheet, making sure cookies are 2" apart. (I fit six cookies on one sheet).
  • Sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  • Bake cookies for 9 minutes.
  • Let hot cookies stand on baking sheet for 2 minutes before removing from pan and cooling on a cooling rack.
