16 Easy Cool Whip Dip Recipes
I have made a lot of dessert dips over the years, and Cool Whip shows up in quite a few of them. It keeps dips light and scoopable and works especially well with cream cheese, pudding, marshmallow fluff, chocolate, fruit, and even snack cakes.
So if you have an extra tub of Cool Whip in the refrigerator and need an easy dessert, this is a good place to start. These are all dip recipes I have made here on Salty Side Dish, from simple fruit dips to chocolate, cookie, fall, and Christmas favorites!

Some recipes specifically call for Cool Whip, while others list frozen whipped topping. Cool Whip is the brand I most often use, but another frozen whipped topping can generally be used when that is what the individual recipe calls for.
Fruity Cool Whip Dips
These are especially good when you already have a fruit tray planned but want to add something sweet alongside it.
Strawberry Fruit Dip

This bright pink fruit dip combines cream cheese, marshmallow creme, strawberry gelatin, and Cool Whip. The gelatin gives the whole dip a stronger strawberry flavor and makes this one especially fun for spring and summer parties.
It only takes a few minutes to mix together and is great with fresh strawberries, apples, or vanilla cookies.

Pineapple Cream Cheese Dip

Crushed pineapple, vanilla pudding, cream cheese, and whipped topping make this pineapple dip creamy, sweet, and a little tropical.
One important tip from this recipe is not to drain the pineapple. The juice works with the pudding mix to help create the dip. Give it some refrigerator time after mixing so it has a chance to thicken.

Cherry Cheesecake Dip

This has been one of my family’s favorite dessert dips for years. Cream cheese, marshmallow creme, and Cool Whip make the cheesecake layer, and cherry pie filling goes right over the top.
It takes almost no effort but looks like a full dessert once it is spread onto a serving plate. Shortbread cookies are especially good here because you get a little of that cheesecake-crust feel in every bite.

Chocolate, Cookie and Cake Dips with Cool Whip
Chocolate, cookies, and cake can make a dip pretty rich. Adding whipped topping keeps the texture fluffy enough for dipping instead of turning it into a bowl of frosting.
Oreo Dip

Oreo Dip is basically cookies and cream in dip form. Cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, Cool Whip, and crushed Oreos make an easy five-ingredient dessert.
You can also change the flavor without changing the recipe much by using Golden, Mint, or Birthday Cake Oreos.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Dip
GET FULL RECIPE HERE —–> Chocolate Cream Cheese Dip
This chocolate dip gets its flavor from melted semi-sweet chocolate chips rather than cocoa powder.
The chocolate is mixed with cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla before whipped topping is added. The result is still rich and chocolatey but much lighter than a chocolate frosting.

Booty Dip

I have made Booty Dip at least 20 times in our house, so this one has definitely earned its spot on the list.
It combines whipped cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, Cool Whip, brown sugar, and mini chocolate chips. Definitely stick with mini chocolate chips. Regular ones are too large when you are trying to scoop the dip with a small cookie or cracker.
This recipe also makes a generous bowl, which is one reason I like it for parties.

Funfetti Dip

Funfetti Dip is colorful, sweet, and especially easy for birthdays or kids’ parties.
Funfetti cake mix, whipped topping, vanilla Greek yogurt, and sprinkles create a thick cake-batter-style dip. Make sure to follow the recipe instructions for safely preparing the cake mix before mixing the dip.

Oatmeal Cream Pie Dip

If you love Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies, this recipe turns them into a full bowl of dessert dip.
Cream cheese, marshmallow creme, milk, and Cool Whip make the base, with pieces of oatmeal cream pies folded right in. I especially like pretzels with this one because the salt cuts through some of the sweetness.

Little Debbie Swiss Rolls Dip

Swiss Rolls work surprisingly well as a dessert dip too.
This one combines cream cheese, marshmallow cream, Cool Whip, half-and-half, and vanilla with pieces of Little Debbie Swiss Rolls mixed throughout. Save another Swiss Roll for the top so everyone immediately knows what flavor they are getting.

Cappuccino Dip

For something a little different from the usual chocolate and cookie dips, Cappuccino Dip brings coffee flavor into the mix.
Cream cheese, vanilla yogurt, whipped topping, coffee, and mini chocolate chips make this a good choice for a more grown-up dessert table. Instant coffee gives it the cappuccino flavor, while mini chocolate chips add a little chocolate throughout the dip

Holiday and Seasonal Cool Whip Dips
This is probably where my dessert dip collection gets the most fun. Pumpkin takes over in the fall, followed pretty quickly by hot chocolate, gingerbread, Grinch desserts, and Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. While Christmas dip recipes are always the most popular, we do have a few holidays before that benefit as well.
Pumpkin Fluff

Pumpkin Fluff is one of the easiest recipes on this list and doesn’t require cream cheese.
Cool Whip, instant vanilla pudding, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice are mixed together and chilled. The flavor is similar to pumpkin pie filling, but the texture stays light and fluffy enough for dipping.
This is an easy one to bring out as soon as fall baking season starts.

Hot Cocoa Dip

Hot Cocoa Dip is just as simple.
Cool Whip, marshmallow creme, and hot cocoa mix create the base, and mini marshmallows finish the top. There is no cream cheese in this recipe, so the texture is especially soft and fluffy.
Graham crackers are a natural choice here because the whole thing gives off a little s’mores-meets-hot-chocolate vibe.

Gingerbread Dip
GET FULL RECIPE HERE —–> Gingerbread Dip
Gingerbread Dip is an easy way to put those warm holiday flavors on a dessert table without baking another batch of cookies.
The recipe uses cream cheese and whipped topping for the creamy base, with gingerbread flavor mixed throughout. It is a nice option when you want a Christmas dip that isn’t chocolate or snack-cake based.

Christmas Tree Cake Dip
GET FULL RECIPE HERE —–> Christmas Tree Cake Dip
Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes somehow end up in my cart every holiday season, so naturally they eventually became a dip.
The cakes are blended with cream cheese, milk, vanilla, and Cool Whip, with another Christmas Tree Cake added on top. You still get little pieces of cake throughout the dip instead of a completely smooth texture.

Grinch Dessert Dip
GET FULL RECIPE HERE —–> Grinch Dessert Dip
Grinch Dip starts with a cheesecake-style mixture of cream cheese, marshmallow creme, and Cool Whip.
Green food coloring gives it the Grinch look, while cherry pie filling creates the red heart on top. This is one of those recipes that works especially well for a themed Christmas party because the decoration is part of the dessert.

Whoville Dip
GET FULL RECIPE HERE —–> Whoville Dip
Whoville Dip is another green Christmas option, but it tastes completely different from Grinch Dip.
This version uses cake mix, cream cheese, Cool Whip, and milk for a fluffy cake-flavored dip. Green coloring and red heart sprinkles finish the Whoville theme.
If you are deciding between the two, make Grinch Dip when you want cheesecake and cherry flavors and Whoville Dip when you want something closer to cake batter.

And if Cool Whip isn’t the ingredient you are trying to use up, I also have a full collection of easy dips made with cream cheese with both sweet and savory options.
