2 Ingredient Greek Yogurt Bagels

✔Viral Recipe ✔Simple Ingredients ✔ Under 30 Minutes

TikTok for the win! These 2 ingredient (or 3?) bagels are made simply with just self rising flour and yogurt.

Of course without the boiling and the change in dough, this dough is more dense versus a crusty bread, but in a pinch, works great and is super fun to make. Plus pretty much all recipes that use everything bagel seasoning are a win in my book – its SO good.

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • everything bagel seasoning

Where to Buy Everything but the Bagel Seasoning

Cannot find the seasoning local? It’s just so good that you should order it! Great on salads, sandwiches and of course this homemade bagel recipe.

Here are some amazon options that I found:

2 Ingredient Bagels

For some reason this recipe hit the viral market having claimed to be a bagel recipe with only 2 ingredients. And its true – the flour and yogurt do all the heavy lifting for this bagel recipe.

But bread (even bagels) are nothing without a little flavor and the seasoning is just required to bring it from plain to delicious so I count the bagel seasoning as the mysterious 3 ingredient bagel.

That being said, its not required, therefore it technically is only a 2 ingredient bagel recipe.

No Boil Bagels

The best part about this Greek Yogurt Bagel recipe is NO BOILING! Many people shy away from homemade bagels because of how much work they can be. I remember a few years back when rainbow bagels became a thing!

You could most definitely make 2 ingredient rainbow bagels with this recipe or just stick to the original ingredient list, but either way its truly easy and oven baked.

How to Oven Bake Bagels

Add yogurt and flour to a mixing bowl and mix well. Dough will be sticky.

Place dough onto a floured surface and knead about 10 times, until no longer sticky. Divide into 4ths.

Roll dough into a 7″ long and 1″ round snake shape.

Fold into a circle and seal ends.

Place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Repeat until you have four bagels.

Can Regular flour over self rising flour be used?  If you do not have self rising flour, you cannot substitute one for one. Self rising flour is flour with baking powder and salt mixed in, so you would need to add that to your dough. Personally I prefer to keep self rising dough on hand for recipes like this to make sure the ratios are thoroughly mixed. Self rising dough is also mixed in Ice Cream bread!

What other seasonings over everything bagel do you suggest?  Easily add some fall seasoning spices like cinnamon, nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice or even the additive of raisins or cranberries bring your plain dough to fun dough!

Do you need yeast? No, these are 2 ingredient NO YEAST bagels!

Do Greek Yogurt Bagels taste like regular bagels? Its best to manage your expectations when you dial down a recipe with 2 ingredients. This is a solid recipe for 2 ingredients, however, they are not going to be your carb loaded, delicious and crusty NY style bagels. The dough is chewier in general but are still pretty good with the flavor.

  1. Brilliant!! Just had to try.
But as a New Yorker – I just had to try an extra step!
And I did BOIL!! first before baking.
Followed your direction and dunked them in a boiling water bath for 1 minute – blotted bottom on paper – and then a quick stop in a plate with corn meal for added texture and not to stick.
Top still wet – easy to Generously apply Bagel Seasoning with out the egg bath!
Now going to go try and fool my Brooklyn born neighbor,
Sooooo happy thanks for the TikTok fun!!
