Important Bread-Making Tips

  • Have some bread recipes you are really good at. Being good at everything is usually impossible, but being good at a few is just enough! My very favorite bread recipe, and the one I am the best at, lies somewhere between chocolate chip banana bread and this totally moist pumpkin bread (my MIL recipe). Having a bread recipe you can count on is a great idea but keep experimenting for more experience.
  • Not all bread making requires yeast or bread makers: There are plenty of bread that does not require any hard labor, including zucchini breaddrop biscuits, and skillet cornbread.
  • Flours are different: Let me say that again – all-purpose flour, cake flour, self-rising flour, wheat flour, and gluten-free flour….its all very different with totally different needs. Do not just substitute flours out.
