Hot, melty, cheesy croissants are a staple on the side of every plate in this house. But why stop with just cheese!
It is so easy to take a normal piece of bread and turn it into something exciting, which is exactly what I did in these amazingly delicious Caprese Croissants.
This custom recipe for ooey gooey cheesy Caprese will make you want more.
With the aromatic and light flavor of garlic and basil, combined with cheese shredded fresh off the block from Sargento, your tomatoes are just marinated in nothing but love.
This easy-to-make appetizer (better make two batches!) is a family favorite in my house and sure to be in yours.
As a bonus, this recipe can be made in mere minutes by any skill-level chef, making it so simple to complete and then eat!
Of course, you already know I love Caprese.
There is nothing I love more than simple ingredients like cheese and tomatoes coming together to create perfection.
And this Caprese croissant is no exception to a perfect Italian side dish or a whole plate full of appetizers for an upcoming party.
Caprese Croissants
Simple ingredients make for incredible dishes, just look how easy it is to make!
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped basil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 cups Sargento® Shreds Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 package of Wild Wonders Gourmet Tomatoes – halved
- 1 package of Crescent Rolls
Meal Prep: Traditional Caprese recipes call for Mozzarella, but Sargento® Shreds has a ton of mixed options and all are delicious. Get creative and make a variety of cheesy pull-apart breads.
Cheesy Caprese Croissants Recipe
Heat the oven according to your crescent roll package.
Make note that many rolls do not require you to spray the pan as it can burn the bottom of your rolls, so make sure you check before automatically spraying.
In a bowl, combine your Sargento® Shreds Cheese, Garlic, Fresh Basil, and halved tomatoes and stir until all combined.
You will LOVE how good everything smells when stirring!
Open your crescent package and lay out your rolls, which look like triangles, on your baking pan.
Scoop a healthy spoonful onto each roll near the fat end and then tightly roll your crescents up, folding your cheese and tomatoes inside.
You will notice that some of your ingredients are spilling out and that is just fine!
Finish all your crescents and then put in oven according to packaging, mine took 12 minutes, monitoring it for done.
CHEFS NOTE: If you want a more golden brown topping, pull out 2 minutes before the rolls are done and baste on a light egg white wash on the top of your rolls.
This will make sure they are golden brown when you take them out.
Serve with a side of Balsamic Vinegar Reduction.
Its best to eat these while the cheese can be enjoyed all hot and perfect.
Just head over to the Publix website and search for “SARGENTO” to find it!
