What is Burrata Cheese?

Burrata cheese is a soft, creamy Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. Its distinct texture has a smooth outer layer surrounding a creamy center.

When sliced open, the creamy center oozes out, adding a luxurious dimension to the salad. It’s an entirely different taste and texture experience for the salad and different from mozzarella.

Heirloom Tomatoes vs. Slicing Tomatoes

Heirloom tomatoes offer various colors, shapes, and sizes, resulting in a visually captivating salad. On the other hand, slicing tomatoes, which are hybrids, are known for their firmness, disease resistance, and longevity.

Caprese Salad with Burrata Variations

Add Fresh Flavors: While burrata cheese and tomatoes shine independently, adding avocado, pears, or even grilled or baked juicy chicken can alter this salad into something new that tastes just as great.

Pesto Magic: Don’t underestimate the power of pesto! Enhance salad by adding a dollop of basil pesto alongside or instead of basil leaves.
