Why Choose Making Corn Dogs in the Air Fryer?

Not only does air frying make foods like pizza rolls, corn dogs, and even Oreo’s taste like they’re freshly fried, but it also maintains your kitchen’s cleanliness and keeps things healthier. Nothing is worse than wiping up a greasy stove or wasting an entire container of oil to deep fry.

Trust me, once you air fry corn dogs, you might never return to the conventional oven or microwave again!

Air Frying Regular Size Corn Dogs

You need: Frozen corn dogs, Air Fryer (any model)

Using My Ninja Foodi For this guide, I used my 6-quart Ninja Foodi All-In-One Air Fryer. It’s a game changer for making full-sized and mini corn dogs with minimal effort.

  1. Preheat: Heat your air fryer to 390 degrees for 5 minutes.
  2. Arrange: Place the corn dogs in the basket. Ensure they’re spaced well to cook evenly.
  3. Cook: Set your air fryer to ‘Air Crisp’ at 390 degrees and cook for 8-10 minutes. Remember to flip them halfway through for that perfectly crisp exterior. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, and bam, the easiest kid-friendly dinner ever!

Air Frying Mini Sized Corn Dog Nuggets

Like chicken nuggets, frozen mini corn dogs cook faster, so they only need about 6-8 minutes under the same conditions.

Perfect Golden Brown Corn Dogs with These Tips

  • Keep them at a Single Layer: Avoid overcrowding your air fryer to ensure each corn dog cooks evenly and with a crunchy texture.
  • Safety First: The corn dogs and their sticks get hot, so handle them carefully. I personally find that using tongs to remove it is the easiest way.

Do I need a non-stick cooking spray or cooking oil?

I think the entire point of using an air fryer is to use a cooking method that doesn’t require any oil. You still get delicious corn dogs without the oily guilt. I know some people will recommend it, but personally, the value is letting the air fryer do its job.

Dipping Sauce Suggestions

I don’t really need to tell you that dogs go with classic ketchup, but there are other ways to chow down with sauces. My favorites are:

What side dishes go with corn dogs?

It’s easy to pair corn dogs with a side dish. As a classic choice, you can’t go wrong with some crispy French fries or tater tots. If serving the dogs at a BBQ, make some coleslaw, fruit salad, or potato salad.

Baked beans and mac and cheese are perfect if you’re looking for something hearty and also typically have leftovers for later meals. If you want something without baking and a bit quicker, freshly sliced raw veggies or pickles are super simple.
